Christmas Party 2020

Top

The theme of this year’s PPP Christmas party could well have been ‘celebration’. The mood was happy and light after a challenging year spent in unchartered territory.

Thirty-five members and guests took advantage of a perfect summer’s evening and spilled out onto the oval to enjoy Dickus’ legendary sausage sizzle and sip on BYO beverages. We were serenaded by a cacophony of cockatoos and cicadas and visited by several dogs too.

The entertainment continued inside our wonderful headquarters where we saw several outstanding AVs by Christopher de Doby, Mick Lynch, Brian Kent and Lorraine MacLarty, which were all faithful to the subject of ‘people’. During the AVs, we went abroad and we visited beautiful beaches closer to home and we saw people in technicolour with the use of light painting. Lorraine’s portraits of people with a disability were superb and her display was timely, given it was International Day of People with a Disability the previous day.

Bob Gilchrist provided us with a memorable tour around India at his photo exhibition in the mezzanine gallery. The colour and energy in his exhibits were breathtaking. (Report by Louise Scahill)
