About the Event

Come and discover the magic of pinhole photography.  Visitors welcome!

What is pinhole photography?

Typically a cardboard or metal box with a tiny pinhole in one end and photographic paper of film at the other end.

So a lens free home-made camera that actually produces very interesting photos.(Pinhole photos can also be achieved using a camera without a lens, piercing a small hole in the body cap)

Worldwide Pinhole Photography day is an international event created to promote and celebrate the art of pinhole photography. On this unique day, people throughout the world are encouraged to take some time off from the increasingly technological world we live in and participate in the simple act of making a pinhole photograph.

Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day was established to celebrate the joy of simple creativity using the medium of lensless photography. We want to show that, from a device as simple as a cardboard box with a tiny hole, you can create inspiring images. Minimal technology and cost: Maximum Passion and Sensitivity!

Photographs taken with a cardboard box without a lens reflect the sincere enthusiasm of their creators who, by participating in this collective event, share individual visions and techniques. Hence the amazing diversity of subjects, cameras, techniques and photographic materials combined by the many participants worldwide.

We'll be at the Primrose Park Photography meeting hall on Sunday the 25th April 2021  from 9 am until lunch time.

Primrose Park Arts & Craft Center, Matora Lane, Off, Young St, Cremorne

Come along, see the cameras, meet the people and see an image appear like magic in the darkroom.
